Privacy Policy

Effective 30 May 2026

The short version: Nothing leaves your phone. VaultDoc has no servers, no analytics, no third-party tracking, and no account system. All scanning, OCR, ID detection, and Apple Wallet signing happens on your device.

What VaultDoc processes locally

Everything above is stored in VaultDoc's sandboxed application directory on your iPhone. Documents you move into the Vault are additionally encrypted by iOS while the device is locked (File Protection Complete).

What VaultDoc collects about you

Nothing. We don't have servers to send data to.

Permissions we request

Apple Wallet

When you save a document as a Wallet pass, the pass is signed on-device using a certificate bundled with VaultDoc. The pass is added to Apple's Wallet app. Apple's own privacy policy applies to anything Wallet does with it from that point.

iCloud

VaultDoc 1.0 ships with iCloud sync disabled. In a future version, optional iCloud Drive sync will let you mirror your scans to the Files app on other devices. When that's enabled, sync uses Apple's private iCloud Drive container — no third-party servers — and is fully under your control.

Third-party services

None. No analytics, no crash reporters, no ads, no third-party SDKs of any kind.

Children's privacy

VaultDoc is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. We don't collect any data, so there is no risk to children's privacy.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, we'll update both this page and the version inside the app.
